The first time I saw this base was in the fall of 1975 during my first Westpac aboard the USS Kilauea AE-26. As an 18 year old this was perhaps my most educational experience not only in third world culture but females as well. This is something that American ladies out to think about. Many men become enchanted with the Filipina woman particularly when she throws herself at young men and will fight other females for the attention. I will not deny that over the years I have been captivated by these beautiful women that still have a penchant to seek marriage and security that many in the American culture have had deprived from their instruction as women. To put in plainly I succumbed to temptation the very first visit to Subic Bay. My first sexual experiences took place in Olongapo City which is out side the main gate.
The last time I saw Subic was long after the base closure. It may have been the USNS Guadalupe that I was on. We took fuel at what used to be the Naval Fuel Depot which is now part of the Coastal Oil Company and is used as a distribution point. Other than that when I was on board the USNS Walter S Diehl T-AO 193 the second time in 1992 we called on Subic I think the final week before the base was turned over to the Philippine Government. My wife and daughter came down with the nanny and two of the nieces. Elizabeth was only about six months old I think. The ladies of Olongapo were sort of jealous and made rude statements as we made the trek down Magsaysay boulevard toward my wife. In those days by Philippine standards my wife was considered to be of high station because of the income she received from our marriage. My nieces Rubylyn and Jennifer were with us and they would do my laundry while visiting me aboard ship. Elizabeth slept on my bed and initiated it when her diaper leaked. After this visit I believe it would be another two months before my wife and daughters visa was granted for travel to the US.
Initially we had not made plans for a permanent move to the states but Pinatubo decided the issue for us when Clark Field got wiped out and my credit union along with it. Others say different but in my opinion Subic was the largest base that we had overseas.
